The way teenage language is looked upon by older generations really makes me sad. To them it’s like we don’t know how to speak or we don’t have any common sense which is not true what so ever.

When we talk slang or Ebonics we are immediately put in a lower class just because others don’t understand it. It’s frustrating, because if you really think about it or really listen to it, it’s all creativity! Like when you here this for example: “Oh that girl is fitted!” Or " imma get me some FITS today”.

Its our way of saying we look good in what we’re wearing!

Now before you say anything. Think about this…. What does a man or woman do when they are going to a wedding, an award show or any special occasion that requires formal wear for that matter! They get fitted for their wear don't they. Our language is so creative it deserves positive recognition! It doesn’t deserves to be looked down upon.

So if your one of those adults that frown upon your youth for their creative  way of speaking take a second listen or just simply ask what we’re talking about, I am sure you’d learn a lot! Not to mention you won't be outdated and uncool... If you have a child you undoubtly felt one or both of those feelings at one point or another in your relationship with them.

You can also look at it as of we are paying our respects to our older generations because all we have really done is taken your childhood language and revamped it to make it our own, just like you did to your seniors in your generation!

Appreciate this never ending, always changing language because all it is is continuous creativity coming from the minds of our world’s youth!
